Caliban's War by James S. A. Corey

I don't think there was any chance that I wasn't going to like this book as long as it kept up the quality of Leviathan Wakes, which I liked pretty well, but not as much as the TV show. However, you guys, it didn't just keep up the quality. It got better. I couldn't be more pleased.

Caliban's War does exactly what I wanted out of Leviathan Wakes after watching the TV show. It opens up the world to include closer looks at Martian and Earth politics and gives us several new POV characters (Bobbie! Avasarala! Prax!). Holden grows. We get to know Amos and Alex better. Naomi keeps doing what Naomi does. The alien stuff gets weirder. If I'd made a list of everything I wanted out of the second book in The ExpanseCaliban's War checks every box on that list. I loved it. Can't wait to keep reading the series!

Also, about that final chapter: I fucking knew it!

Anyway, highly recommend. Go read Leviathan Wakes if you haven't already, and read it know that book two is even better.
